White-label-style server support for a 15-year-old hosting company. cPanel/WHM emergencies, migrations, security patches.
Project Overview
Hosting Marketers (hosting-marketers.com) has been running for over 15 years. The founder, Paul Santos, brought me in to handle the server-level cPanel/WHM work he no longer wanted to touch personally — emergency recoveries, migrations, security patches, and late-night incident response. The relationship works because I run two of my own production hosting brands (WaseerHost, Co2Host), so the workflow is the same stack I already operate daily.
The Challenge
A long-running hosting company where the founder did everything himself for years and was now running into burnout on the deep server-level work — emergency recoveries, mass migrations, security incidents — but didn't want the overhead of a full sysadmin hire.
What I Built
- Ongoing cPanel/WHM technical support — emergencies, migrations, hardening
- On-call response for server-down incidents
- Account migrations between providers without downtime
- CSF/LFD firewall tuning + ModSecurity rule reviews
- EasyApache 4 rebuilds when needed
- Hands-off operation — Paul stays focused on sales/marketing, I handle the kernel
